It's not exactly a homecoming for Ram Nayyar, but when the Canadian national coach for badminton arrives in Delhi this week for the
Common wealth Games, he'll introduce his Canadian and Indian families to each other. Regardless of the mad dash to complete key venues such as the Athletes Village, he thinks the two will get along.
"I'm ethnically Indian, but that being the case, do I have a personal investment in the success of the Delhi Games? Not really," he said. "But it's still representative of my roots and if the Games go well, it's a positive."
Born in Chandigarh, the capital of both Punjab and Haryana provinces near Delhi in northern India, Nayyar immigrated to Edmonton as a young child with his parents.
