Renowned lawn bowler Siti Zalina Ahmad has been honoured with the role of flag bearer for Malaysia at the opening ceremony of the XIX Common wealth Games 2010 Delhi starting from 3 October 2010.
It is big honour for the veteran, who is eyeing to become the first Malaysian to win a hat-trick of gold medals in the Games.In fact, it is the first time that a lawn bowl athlete has been chosen to hoist the Jalur Gemilang at a major Games.
National Sports Council (NSC) director general Datuk Zolkples Embong confirmed that Zalina had been given the mandate to lead the Malaysian contingent in New Delhi.
